I’m delighted to be be offering Introduction to Natural Building with Cob, Straw, and Natural Plasters, a weekend workshop on Cape Cod, along with Carl Lindgren of Embodied Build & Plaster.

It’ll be an immersive weekend of hands-on learning with a golden trifecta of natural building materials: cob, straw, and natural plasters. We’ll start with cob: the deliciously sculpt-able, massively strong, and endlessly versatile material that draws so many people to natural building. Then we’ll move on to straw for insulation: an essential part of building in our cold climate. Lastly, we’ll wrap up with natural clay plasters: the healthy, gorgeous, and moisture-regulating way to finish just about any wall.

I’ve found that in single-component workshops, questions naturally arise on all components of a natural building, so this value-packed weekend allows for us to provide a broad-ranging introduction with hands-on time with multiple materials.

I personally love the camp-out aspect of natural building workshops, so I’m stoked to be able to offer that within reach of a major metropolis. Picture campfire circles and dips in the ocean, just a four-minute walk away.

This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in living closer to nature and building things with their hands! No prior experience needed.
