Biolithic Builds is delighted to be coming to The Craft School at Mill Hollow Works this year for a series of natural building workshops. Mill Hollow Works is a heritage craft school is located in southern New Hampshire, just three miles away from downtown Keene.

June 6th + June 7th
Keene, NH
A detailed introduction to straw-insulated wall systems, appropriate for many climates including the cold Northeast. Students will receive both hands-on and classroom instruction over two days, and practice by building a light straw-clay wall.
June 13th + June 14th
Keene, NH
Learn to build an outdoor pizza oven using the soil under your feet! This hands-on class is a great introduction to mixing and sculpting with cob: one the most ancient, versatile, sustainable, and fun building materials. Come ready to get muddy.
All of these workshops are 100% beginner-friendly: no experience in building needed. You’ll walk away with the essential “feel” for these materials that can only be had through hands-on experience, and a wealth of resources to guide your future projects.
Class space is limited for a high-quality, personalized experience with lots of 1-1 time, so don’t hesitate to nab your spot.
The MHW campus boasts a plenty of teaching space in a spacious green area with a history of agriculture and tree research. The city of Keene offers plenty of options for dining and lodging. You can even ride your bike down the beautiful Cheshire Rail Trail to get to class!

Save The Dates: Plaster and Paints at Mill Hollow Works
The series will be rounded out by two more weekend-long workshops:
- September 19-20: Plaster Fundamentals
- September 26-27: Natural Paints
They will focus on nontoxic, skin-safe plasters and paints that you can apply with the whole family. We’ll return to the structures built in the first two workshops and get practice applying clay plaster to dry light straw-clay and cob.
These latter two workshops are not yet open for registration, but links will be shared when they are.
